The objects of research are natural and artificial nanostructured iron oxide and polymetallic microdisperseous phases, present in carbon-containing composites of metallurgical origin, in the processes of their transformation during thermochemical renewal and leaching with organic acids. The purpose of the work is to establish mechanisms for the formation of carbon and metal phases under the conditions of reducing thermal (metallurgical) processes and the development of effective technological methods of separation, purification of iron - iron oxide compounds from iron - containing polymineral systems and obtaining nanostructured phases for further practical use. Methods of investigation - X-ray, X-ray fluorescence, electron microscopic, chemical elemental and physical analyzes, biocolloidal research methods. The obtained results - the mechanism of formation of polydispersed metal and metasilicate phases of iron, non - ferrous metals and amorphous carbon in the processes of conversion and condensation of constituent metallurgical gases at high speeds of decrease of their temperature was investigated and proved. The scientific basis has been developed and the process of processing such materials has been proposed, which includes regenerative thermal treatment at relatively low temperatures (773-823K) and sequential evaporation with organic acids (lactate, citrate, or oxalate) of the residue formed after such treatment. It has been experimentally proved that by the method of glycerol-alkaline leaching of metal phases of carbon-containing composites, there is a selective dissolution of non-ferrous metals, primarily zinc.
