Karazin popup.description2 The phylogenetic relationships of invasive species populations (horse-chestnut leaf miner) were first detected. The ways of colonization by the eastern medical leech of its modern range are investigated. By means of simulation of the potential range, possible directions of range expansion in the Indian myna and the gray squirrels were shown. The processes of microevolution in the populations of Shchegolev's leech and trochetas of southern Ukraine, which are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, were demonstrated. According to morphological and molecular data, a new species for fish leeches, Ambulobdella shandikovi A. Utevsky & S. Utevsky, 2018, was described. New information on the distribution of rare species of Ukraine was obtained. The effect of natural selection in an urbanized human population was demonstrated. The pattern of distribution of the pharmacologically significant polymorphism 516G/T of the CYP2B6 gene in the population of Ukraine was first determined. The role of migration processes in formation of human gene pool in the territory of Eurasia was shown. The adaptive activity of polytene chromosomes in Drosophila melanogaster under the conditions of microwave radiation was detected.
