Goal of the work: to reveal the dimensional effects in thin films of solid solutions (Bi)2(Te1-xSex)3, (Bi1-xSbx)2Te3, (Bi1-xSbx)2Se3, Bi1-xSbx та Pb1-xSnxTe(Se) and peculiarities of their manifestation related to the presence of a topological surface layer and to determine the impact of these effects on thermoelectric properties. Methods of research: X-ray diffractometry; optical and electronic microscopy; measurement of microhardness, kinetic and thermal properties. Polycrystals of solid solutions IV-VI, V2VI3 and V-V were manufactured. The structure and phase composition were studied, and dependences of mechanical, electrophysical, galvanomagnetic, thermoelectric and thermal properties on stoichiometry, solid solution composition and temperature were obtained. The dimensions of the phase homogeneity regions in the Bi-Te and Bi-Se systems were determined and the optimum composition for the further growth of thin films was established. The influence of the second component on the mechanical and transport properties of Bi2(Te1-хSeх) and (Bi1-xSbx)2Te3 solid solutions was studied. The influence of composition, temperature and magnetic field on the manifestation of electronic phase transitions in Bi1-xSbx system is established. The new preparation technique for the high quality Bi2Se3 thin films was developed.
