Karazin popup.description2 The object of the study are the characteristics of the electromagnetic field, scattered by complex form bodies. The purpose of the work is to create new and improve the existing methods of numerical simulation of impulse wave scattering, in particular waves of the radar range, on objects of complex shape. Research Methods for the calculation of wave scattering on a complex shape object it is planned to use the SBR (Shooting and Bouncing Rays) method in con-junction with the methods of physical and geometrical optics for monochromatic and pulsed fields. Results: FDTD method using for analysis of electromagnetic wave diffraction on complex shape objects is considered, in particular, in objects whose dimensions are large in comparison with the wavelength and in objects with complex geometry. Computer program for analyzing the diffraction of pulsed or monochromatic signals on an azimuthal periodic grating located in cross-section of an empty dielectric waveguide has been created and the physical effects that occur at such diffraction are analyzed. The possibilities of using such grating as a source of a laser resonator mir-ror, which leads to the generation of waves with special polarization, have been dis-covered and confirmed.
