Bogatsky, Physico-Chemical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 The mechanism of action of 7-bromo-3-propoxy-5- (2-chlorophenyl) -1,3-dihydrobenzo [e][1,4] diazepin-2-one was studied on experimental models of convulsive state of different origin. It is shown that the predominant contribution is due to the GABA-ergic system, as shown by the high anticonvulsant activity in the models of picrotoxin- and penthylenetetrazol-induced seizures (ED50 1,67 ± 0,09 mg/kg and 0,92 ± 0,378 mg/kg, respectively). On the model of maximum electroshock (ED50 = 0,57 ± 0,23 mg/kg), it was found that a decrease in the manifestation of tonic convulsions is achieved with an increase of propoxazepam dose. Efficacy was studied on a model of penthylenetetrazol kindling epilepsy and under conditions of GABA deficiency (thiosemicarbazide-induced seizures, ED50 0,18 ± 0,10 mg/kg).
