The purpose of the study is preventing lethal and long-term negative health effects of toxic air pollutants on users (including private sector employees, civilians, workers of enterprises, civilians, employees of State Emergency Service of Ukraine, employees of Ministry of Defense of Ukraine), especially while performing vigorous physical activities. Traditional physical and chemical research methods along with computer processing of experimental data were used for analysis of physical and chemical properties of chemical sorbents and products of reactions of acidic and alkaline gases with chemical sorbents. List of primary hardware used: IR spectrometer Spectrum BX II FT-IR System (Perkin-Elmer); laser spectrometer DFS-24; mass-spectrometer МХ-1321 and VG 7070; NMR spectrometer Mercury 400 (Varian); difractometers "Xcalibur-3" (Oxford Diffraction Ltd.) and Siemens D500; derivatograph OD-102 of F. Paulik - J. Paulik - L. Erdey system; electrical conductivity meter Expert-002; рН-meter рН-150М. Theoretical and practical results: All necessary technical and regulatory documents for setting up research-oriented production of MPPs have been prepared, including documentation for impregnated fibrous chemical sorbents-ampholytes of prolonged use with triggering indication for absorption capacity "ХА-І" (ІВХС "ХА-І"); dual-action filtering half-masks of prolonged use for protection against gases and aerosols "LUR17"; self-rescue kit with block of forced clean air pumping to the breathing area; technical specifications for production of impregnated fibrous chemical sorbents-ampholytes and catalyst of low-temperature oxidation of carbon monoxide КНО-СО/Н-Class-0,5; technical specifications for MPPs, self-rescue kits, their components and hardware needed for their mass production; expertise from ДСЕЕ of Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine on correspondence of developed MPPs to workplace safety requirements and correspondence of manufacturing specifications to hygiene-related law requirements; user documentation for MPPs and self-rescue kits. Scientific novelty: the interconnection of the physico-chemical properties of N, O-containing organic bases used for the production of impregnated fibrous chemosorbents-ampholytes (IFCS-A) and modifications of ion-exchange fibrous materials (IFM) and the composition of products of their interaction with SO2 has established for the first time. It has been shown that products of condensation of N-containing organic bases with formaldehyde should be used for manufacturing of IFCS, and complex compounds of amines with 3d metals, amino salts with amino acids and polyhydric acids should be used for manufacturing of IVCS-A. Effectiveness of implementation. Significant socio-economic effect will be obtained from the implementation of developed MPPs in private sector to ensure health and long-term longevity of workers, as well as in the departments of the State Emergency Service and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
