The purpose of the work is to study the propagation of elastic waves in a vertically-inhomogeneous half-space (near-surface area of the earth) excited by local sources on its surface and their impact on the stability of weapons, military equipment, fortifications and personnel. Methods of research: matrix method of mathematical modeling of mechanical waves, experimental study of mechanical waves, mathematical models of the environment, methods of complete separation of variables. In this work the effect of mechanical vibrations on the stability of elements of structures of combat vehicles is investigated and ways of combating loss of stability are proposed, in particular, by increasing the natural frequencies of the structure by increasing the ratios of "stiffness-mass" of its individual parts. The behavior of shock explosive waves on the boundary of contact of the environments - reflection-passing and scattering of waves, strength characteristics of waves' actions on fortifications, constructional structures. The corresponding mathematical model of the dynamics of the use of additional elastic reinforcement of the outer part of the protective structure is constructed. Proposed ratios of mathematical modeling with the appropriate development of theoretical material can be used to predict the risk assessment of personnel damage and the calculation of dynamic loads under the impact of explosive waves on weapons, engineering structures, personnel during the study of discipline "Dynamics and stability of engineering structures".
