The purpose of the work is to study the effect of microwaves on the efficiency of preliminary preparation of natural sorbents, the improvement of their operational characteristics in wastewater treatment processes. Research methods. Experimental studies were performed by modern methods. The activation of bentonite was carried out in a complex manner - by a combination of the action of microwave electromagnetic radiation on sorbents with simultaneous washing with water. The concentrations of pollutants in the waters before and after purification were determined by photocolorimetric and using an atomic absorption spectrometer. Changes in the state and properties of the sorbent itself in the process of sorption purification were studied using X-ray phase analysis, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive analysis. Results. As a result of the research, a whole series of adsorption isotherms of pollutants (in particular, several inorganic anions and heavy metals) on natural bentonite and microwave activated microwaves were obtained; The corresponding sorption characteristics were calculated from these isotherms. Based on the obtained results, it was shown that the combination of hydrothermal and microwave activation of bentonite makes it possible to significantly improve the sorbcin capacity without the use of reagent methods. Novelty. In accordance with the plans for the development of a new method (and methodology) and the development of a technological scheme such as the intensification of environmental protection measures for the purification of water resources, including technological and economic problems.
