It is shown that small iron additions to the Zr1%Nb alloy lead to a change in its structure due to the appearance of Laves phase. It is shown that with increasing iron content in the Zr1% Nb alloy, its microhardness increases. The changes in weight of samples in the process of corrosion in the water of the WWER-1000 composition at the maximum working temperature of the fuel elements of the WWER-1000 reactor (350 °C) for samples of Zr1% Nb alloy with iron additives were determined.
