The purpose of the study is to find out the little-known pages of the development of rocket technology in the domestic and world contexts, to study the little-known issues of the development of the theory of relativity in Ukraine, to create a methodology for research and a database of scientists in Ukraine on this issue. Research methods - both general scientific (analysis, synthesis), and special historical and methods of related sciences, in particular sociology. The practical and theoretical results are as follows. The process of organizing scientific and engineering activities at the stages of development of unmanned rocket technology in the USSR (Ukraine) and the world has been studied and analyzed. It is stated that V. von Braun abroad predicted collective tendencies and peculiarities of this industry and was aimed at practical results. The forms of organization of such activities in the USSR were investigated, it was stated that from the very beginning the USSR took the path of collective development of rocket and space technology. The historiographical works of foreign researchers were revealed and analyzed for the first time, in which N. I. Kibalchich’s contribution to the development of rocket technology is considered. According to the results of a critical analysis of these studies, debatable questions have been established concerning the priority of N. I. Kibalchich and his contribution to the global development of rocket and space technology. The perception of the theory of relativity in the USSR in the scientific community and society as a whole, the influence of ideological campaigns on this process has been clarified. For the first time, the reflection of the philosophers of natural science in Ukraine on the special theory of relativity was studied. Principles of the methodology and methods of research have been developed, a database has been created. Most of these results have a scientific novelty.
