The purpose of the study is to develop the scientific and methodological foundations of economic development in the context of globalization. Research methods are systematic approach, historical and logical, dialectical approach, analysis and synthesis, the method of analogies, comparison, observation, description, abstraction, idealization, graphical interpretation, formalization, generalization. Theoretical and practical results consist in the study of the theoretical and applied foundations of the formation of global problems, threats and challenges of economic development; determining the deployment dynamics of the imperatives of economic development; the development of directions for optimizing the functioning of the national economy of Ukraine under the influence of the global problems of social development. The novelty of research work is the global factors of social development direction are identified; identified the main trends in the development of global social problems in the world economy; opened the labor potential of Ukraine, as the basis of the positive economic development of the state in the context of globalization; identified priority areas and conditions for economic growth of the national economy of Ukraine. The effectiveness of implementation is confirmed by the thesis defense, scientific and educational publications, testing at conferences, and references to the introduction of performers. Sphere of use of the results is international and national economic relations, national regulatory policy, scientific activity, educational process.
