The aim of the research is to assess the current situation and main trends of animals’ populations’ development, their role in the natural-reserved fund of the Steppe zone of Ukraine. Research methods are wide range of classic fauna field and cameral accounting methods, surveillance and modern methods of monitoring studies of populations of different systematic groups of animals. The results of the work have scientific significance and novelty for the investigation of the present status of rare and endangered species of animals in the Steppe zone of Ukraine, organization of the management process and conservation of faunal complexes within the objects of natural reserve fund, and for educational activities and education work.
