The subject of research is crystals of active dielectrics and synthetic opals infiltrated by active dielectrics. The aim of the work is to synthesize compounds of active dielectrics, globular photonic crystals and the development of methods for improving optical quality. Research methods: crystal growth from the melt to the seed, infiltration of synthetic opals, X-ray phase analysis, methods of dielectric, optical and radio-spectroscopy. New methods have been developed for growing crystals of active dielectrics, in particular, paratellurite, and the infiltration of synthetic opals by active dielectrics. Optical phenomena in active photonic crystals infiltrated by active dielectrics have been investigated for the first time at optical excitation and the processes of occurrence of defect states in crystals. The influence of the conditions of technological processing, doping, size effects on the electrophysical parameters and optical properties of the studied systems is analyzed. The results of the research will be used in the teaching of physical materials science, the obtained samples can be used to develop experimental devices in the field of functional electronics.
