The purpose of the research is to find out the content of the contemporary applied communication technologies in the system of social activity. Within the research project in order to get the purpose of the research as well as to check the hypothesis and solve problems, we used a comprehensive methodology, including the system of research methods, accompanied within a social and communication paradigm: 1) theoretical methods - the analysis of scientific literature reviews in the field of "Social communications", social and psychological and methodological literature on the problem of the research, the method of theoretical modeling; 2) empirical methods - pedagogical experiment, testing, surveys, interviewing, observation, analysis and generalization of pedagogical experience. The scientific novelty of the research is defined by the followings: 1) the methodology of advertising and PR researches is presented in an cross-disciplinary mode; 2) the approaches to the researches of advertising and public relations as polyparadigmal phenomena, while being under study of the tools of communication studies, marketing, cognition studies, are theoretically explained and accordingly adapted; 3) the interactive method of teaching PR-students is considered in a comprehensive mode: as a synthesis of cognitive and communicative approaches to achieve the relevant competence. The results and conclusions of the research project are implemented in the educational process of teaching bachelors and masters in the specialty "Journalism", educational program "Advertising and Public Relations" DNU; they are used for developing educational programs, for designing optional professionally-devoted courses in order to raise the level of students' professional competence. The supposed assumptions on the development of the research object is the search for an optimal model of effective communication in the context of social communications.
