The purpose of the work is a development of production technology of mullite corundum castable with quartz containing addition. The research methods are chemical, petrographic, thermo-mechanical ones. The influence of type and quantity of quartz containing addition on the properties of mullite corundum castable is studied. According to the results of research, the production technology of mullite corundum castable with a quartz containing addition - pulverized quartz has been developed. It was established that, at adding pulverized quartz in the mullite corundum castable composition by partial replacement of the same amount of high-alumina cement, the castable is characterized by a larger flowing (185 %) compared with the flowing of castable without addition (137.5 %), and samples from castable after 3 days of hardening and heat treatment at a temperature of 110 °C - a higher strength - 87 N/mm2 compared with 52 N/mm2 for samples of castable without quartz addition. The chemical composition of the developed castable: content, wt. %: Al2O3 - 72.4, CaO - 4.2, Fe2O3 - 0.98, which corresponded to requirements of the technical specifications. At a pilot production JSC "The URIR named after A.S. Berezhnoy" the production technology of refractory concrete products of new type sizes by the vibrocasting method from a chamotte castable for test unit of refractoriness determination, as well as chamotte rammed products was mastered. In accordance with the requirements of current normative documentation on the pilot production JSC "The URIR named after A.S. Berezhnoy" the pilot batches of corundum, mullite corundum, chamotte castables, products with using chamotte castable and chamotte products have been produced. The work shall be continued in the line of mastering the production technology of mullite corundum castable with a quartz containing addition, further improving the production technology of alumina silicate castables, expanding the volumes of production and use of corundum, mullite corundum, chamotte castables and products on their basis.
