The purpose of the work is to theoretically substantiate the signs, content, goals of contemporary art, principles, methods, technologies, means of creating aesthetically perfect forms in design, to develop new approaches and methods of teaching and assessment of professional disciplines in order to provide a more effective integrated learning process. To achieve the goal, to test the hypothesis and to solve the problems of research, the authors used a comprehensive methodology, which included a system of coordinated pedagogical research methods: 1) theoretical methods - the analysis of scientific linguistic, psychological and pedagogical, methodological literature on the problem of research, consideration of previously performed dissertation research, the method of theoretical modeling; 2) empirical methods - pedagogical experiment, testing, questionnaires, interviews, interviews with teachers and students, observation, attendance and analysis of studies, analysis and generalization of pedagogical experience; 3) methods of mathematical statistics (if necessary). The scientific novelty of the study consists in the fact that in it: 1) the necessity of elaboration of criteria for evaluation of design works, as well as methods of control with the purpose of improving the quality of training in professional disciplines, was substantiated; 2) the methodology of training future designers on the basics of forming on the basis of combinatorial, transformational, stylized methods and principles of structural organization of the form is developed and implemented; 3) the creative achievements of the Dnipropetrovsk organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine were traced for the first time and the development vectors in the context of the paradigm of contemporary art were determined; 4) the systematization of information from various sources has been carried out, materials not previously published, museum samples, facts, photographs and reproductions from rare editions have been introduced into scientific circulation. Research materials can be used to further improve the learning process of future artists and designers in the specialty 022 "Design" and 023 "Fine art, decorative art, restoration", in accordance with the educational and qualification level "Bachelor", "Master" of higher education institutions, with preparation of curriculums, preparation of courses on a choice, carrying out of testing.
