Goal is to: - analyze an array of psychological and pedagogical literature and determine the role of independent work as an effective means of professional training of students; - identify pedagogical conditions of organization of independent work in the process of professional training of students; - identify types of effective independent work and implement them in the process of language training of students. The practical significance of the study is determined by: 1. the development of methodological recommendations for teachers of higher educational institutions on the organization of independent work in foreign languages students in the process of training; 2. the possibility of using methodical recommendations for the organization of independent students' work in a foreign language. The results of the research and conclusions can be used in the educational process in order to increase the level of foreign language competence of students, in the preparation of curricula, in the preparation of courses of choice, testing, training and role-playing classroom. Foreseeable assumptions about the development of the research object are the search and testing of the optimal methods of teaching foreign languages to students of non-language faculties of HEI.
