Parameters of the synthesis of TiN-based coatings, depending on the characteristics of the substrate are optimized. The processes of ion nitriding, its parameters and the choice of the type of ions for irradiation are investigated. Using the combined method of filtered vacuum-arc plasma source with a titanium cathode and an RF discharge in benzene vapor were synthesized composite carbide-carbon coatings of the system TiC: а-С:Н. The vacuum-arc installation was modernized using a two-channel Y-shaped magnetoelectric macroparticle filter for the synthesis of multicomponent composite layers from filtered plasma flows and the filter operation and its optimization were investigated. Comparative studies of the efficiency of diamond synthesis using a constant current source and a pulsed power source of a glow discharge are carried out.
