Simulated irradiation with electrons (E - 10 MeV) and gamma-bremsstrahlung of potassium-magnesium-phosphate and glass-ceramic samples was carried out before the set absorbed dose of 100 MGy and 1 MGy, respectively. It was established that the obtained samples retain their physico-mechanical properties and structure after gamma-irradiation. The irradiation of high-energy electrons of potassium-magnesium-phosphate samples leads to the transition KMgPO4 · 6H2O - KMgPO4 · H2O. In this case, macrodefects and cracks leading to mechanical destruction of the samples were not detected. Conducted corrosion tests of the phosphates obtained showed that the leaching rate of cesium from potassium-magnesium-phosphate samples is ~10-5 g/cm2·day, which is significantly lower than for concrete compounds. The results of studies of the radiation and corrosion resistance of the obtained phosphate matrices indicate the promise of using potassium-magnesium-phosphate materials for isolation of radioactive waste.
