Object of research: analysis of the results of long-term eddy current testing of heat exchange tubes and the influence of structural components steels on the degradation of metal of pipes of heat exchange equipment of nuclear power plants during long-term operation. The purpose of this work was to determine the mechanisms of degradation of the metal of the tube bundle of nuclear power plants steam generators after long-term operation. Research methods - metallography, electron microscopy, mathematical methods. Using mathematical methods, the features of the distribution of operational defects by the parameters of the multiyear eddy current control signal for metal of pipes in the volume of the heat exchanger beam of the steam generator of the nuclear power plants have been established. It is shown that both the structural features of the steam generator and the structural components of the steel can be a likely cause of the dependence of the resource of heat exchange pipes. The novelty of the work consists in the following: it is shown that nonmetallic inclusions, which initiate the processes of local corrosion and corrosion fatigue, can be the germs of damage in the metal of stainless steel pipes. The research results can be used in nuclear and thermal energy.
