The aim of the research is based on the comparative analysis of the world and national practices of self-organization of the public to determine the conditions necessary for the effective use of the potential of various types of public associations, as well as the optimal mechanisms of institutional support for the activities of public associations in the implementation of youth and social projects. The research results. The system analysis of the institutional support of the activities of public associations, taking into account the needs of different types of public associations, was conducted in the work. Conceptual approaches to the understanding of the essence and defining features of institutional support of the activity of public associations are formed. The classification of the key characteristics of foreign and domestic practices of self-organization of the public, the modern development associations, which helped to establish how the rise of social roles, age, gender, humanitarian, cultural and other non-political NGOs, with a view to create new channels of influence on organized public the processes of elaboration and adoption of political and managerial decisions, the emergence of new forms of articulation and aggregation of public interests. The approaches to risk the negative impact of destructive social processes of self-organization of state and public opinion, which is closely related to social, economic and moral crisis in society. The system of measures of state regulation aimed at supporting the state of socially useful and socially oriented activities of public associations is proposed.
