The induction of PED is accompanied with a change in the intestinal microflora which consists of random environmental transient microbionts. These microbionts have pathogenic properties and lead to a decrease in the number of probiotic microorganisms. Evaluating the effectiveness of the cleaning and disinfection protocol in pig-breeding premises contaminated with a PEDV, it was found that the causative agent of PED contaminates most production and auxiliary premises and environmental objects in permanently infected farms. The one-time cleaning and disinfection protocol does not allow the farm to completely dispose from the PEDV. Only two-time sanitation of premises and environmental objects with the laboratory control of the efficiency of cleaning and disinfection contributes to the effective eradication of PEDV. The results of our study indicate that the viral isolate is an emergent highly pathogenic and contagious pathogen for newborn pigs and induces lethal diarrhea syndrome with the classical type of infectious process. It has been established that the PEDV strain being studied has high virulence for newborn piglets and DCL is 1-10 virions, and the incubation period lasts 18-26 hours. PED is acutely infection with mortality up to 100% during 68-72 hours after infection. It has been determined that one of the ways of piglets infecting and environmental contamination with the PEDV is the spread of the pathogen by the flies M. domestica vicina Mcq.
