The object of the study is the social groups in Ukraine during the first half of the 20th century, their structure, mobility, interrelations and influence on social processes, as well as the person, its relations with other subjects and social groups. The subject of the study is the formation, existence and interaction of social and social groups in Ukraine in the first half of the twentieth century, the activities of various social organizations, the history of social movements and social conflicts. Research methods - research is based on general scientific methods of cognition, using scientific and critical analysis of sources. Historically comparative and problem-chronological methods, system approach, statistical method are considered to be the most acceptable for this research. The work outlines the specifics of the social structure in Ukraine and its role in historical processes; the processes of interaction of social and social groups of population are formulated; state organizations of different levels are investigated; the structure and dynamics of certain professional categories of the population are analyzed; as well as various materials on the social history of Ukraine: statistical information, legislative, folklore materials of the first half of the twentieth century. The findings may contribute to understanding the history of Ukraine through the prism of social, that is, as a process of development of personality, family, society.
