The purpose of the study: improving technical and economic indicator blast furnace operation. Research methods and apparatus: physical and mathematical simulation. Analyzed were the results of industrial research of powder coal injection into the hearth of blast furnaces at different charging systems, on the basis of the dynamics of alternation of aggregate ratio of coke replacement with PCF. It was found out that charging of blast furnaces with increased portions of iron ore materials and coke, ensuring formation of high coke layer in the charge is one of compensating methods, aimed at improving gas permeability of the column of charge materials at increased PCF consumption. It was shown that operation of a blast furnace, charged with heavier supplies at peripheral increased ore loads and more intense axial gas flow could be quite beneficial. The performed laboratory investigations of radial distribution of ore loads helped to determine blast furnace charging cycles with bell-type device, making up high layers of homogeneous materials and ensuring improvement of melt's intensity at reduction of specific consumption of coke.
