The results of a comprehensive study of interrelated processes and the influence of raw and technological conditions on the course of reactions, the determination of the characteristics of gas dynamics and heat and mass transfer, the results of an analysis of studies and the development of recommendations for choosing optimal modes for the reduction of iron oxides and agglomeration of iron ores, and ladle refining of cast iron are presented. A change in the characteristics of the slag regime and heating of cast iron due to the transition to the injection of pulverized coal fuel with a decrease in the basicity of slag from 1.16 to 1.10 and from 1.20 to 1.12 units has been established. The relationship between the viscosity of the slag at a temperature of 1400 ° C and the chemical heating of cast iron at the outlet is established. The existence of a feedback between the melting intensity and the silicon content in cast iron is established. It is established that when using a rotating submersible lance on the UDC, the dimensions of the "dead" non-mixed zones are significantly reduced. The reagent-free zone when using a rotating tuyere with two nozzles is from 10 to 15% of the bath area, compared with 35-55% for the conditions for the reagents to be injected through one and two-nozzle stationary tuyeres. Based on the experiments, the optimal tuyere rotation speed was determined. The degree of desulfurization increases with increasing mixing power as a function with an exponent of 0.209. The possibility of decreasing the CaO: Mg ratio in the reagent mixture, which is blown into the melt in the second phase of refining of cast iron on UDC, has been investigated and shown.
