The main result of the work is the control systems of active and reactive components of currents of power electrotechnical equipment for controlling reactive power and related indicators of quality power in powerful alternating current electric drives and in the load nodes as a whole, created on the basis of combining vector and extreme control methods. A method has been developed for calculating power resonant filters to eliminate the high harmonics of current and voltage in the electrical network. A statistical processing of the experimental data of the current consumed by the power substations was carried out and the peculiarities of the correlation connection between the non-sinusoidal current and voltage asymmetry with the technological mode of electrical equipment were identified.
