Purpose: to identify the key methods and principles for creating a visual image that will enhance creativity and the study of visual language in Ukraine in the context of contemporary European progress. The method of research - complex, involving a systematic approach, involves the use of methods of art analysis on the outlined problem. The principles of a systematic approach to the coverage of the phenomena of the past and the present are applied, based on the integrated use of literary sources and works of art. The systematization of the material was performed using comparative and visual-analytical methods. A formalization method was used to summarize the results obtained. Scientific and practical results: - the results of the work are applied in educational and scientific activity, in the preparation of developments in the form of methodological recommendations, manuals, as well as scientific theses and articles on the role, style and figurative features of sacral, easel painting, graphics, poster and book art in the decision of cultural and historical issues; - the peculiarities of the formation of contemporary language visual arts in different directions of visual communication are considered; - the means of expressing the semantics of images, forms, color in contemporary fine art have been identified; - the achievements of national graphic artists in the context of contemporary trends are considered world art, and their influence on the scientific and creative activity of students of CDADM; - Compositional and stylistic solutions of painting canvases, posters, easel sheets are combined; - the mechanism of attraction of styles, materials, newest technologies to visualization of literary works, in combination with traditional techniques of execution, is offered; - the peculiarity of poster visual language is considered as a means of visual communication; - features of modern complex design of books are defined. The results of the study allow: - to generalize the world and national experience of creating visually expressive and meaningful images and ways of their involvement, introduction to the educational and creative process; - to publish author's design developments in the form of scientific articles, methodological recommendations, manuals, monographs, catalogs of author's and student's works; - organize exhibitions of teachers and students in the direction of the author's painting, restoration, book graphics, poster, as well as publish albums, catalogs, monographs.
