Research methods: logical and historical methodology combined with structural and functional approach, expert assessments, statistical and general scientific methods. Results and their novelty: The paper defines the content and forms of influence of global instability on the socio-economic development of Ukraine in order to develop new approaches to solving urgent problems of sustainable development. The content and forms of manifestation of global instability are clarified; revealed the essence and main components of socio-economic development; the main reasons for the transformation of instability into an immanent characteristic of the global socio-economic dynamics are revealed. Particular attention is focused on defining the institutional preconditions for the unstable socio-economic dynamics of Ukraine, uncovering the value-institutional potential of stable development of the Ukrainian economy and ways of its effective use. The main directions of creation of technical and technological base of digital development of the Ukrainian society as a basis for overcoming the destructive impact of the global technological gap are determined. Mechanisms for stimulating technological innovations in industry as a factor in stabilizing socio-economic development are substantiated. The influence of foreign trade relations and capital movement on the stability of functioning of the economy of Ukraine is highlighted. Monetary policy is considered as a factor of stability and instability of socio-economic dynamics. On the basis of the theoretical and analytical work, proposals were made to the authorities to stabilize the socio-economic dynamics. Level of implementation: used in the legislative process by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans' Rights; in the work of the Union of Economists of Ukraine. Significance of the work and conclusions: The work reveals the content and forms of the impact of global instability on the socio-economic development of Ukraine in order to develop new approaches to solving urgent problems of sustainable development. Predictive assumptions about the development of the study: it is necessary to deepen methodological approaches to clarify the contemporary nature of instability and to develop mechanisms to respond to the effects of destabilizing factors and ensure stable socio-economic development.
