The object of research is the process of train formation at technical stations of railway directions. The subject of research is the operational organization of freight wagon traffic with the use of group trains, formed on the basis of associated assignments of the regulatory plan for the formation of trains. The aim of the work is to improve the neural network model for choosing a train reception route to the sorting station by decomposing the neural network into a set of interconnected blocks, each of which solves a separate elementary task, and reducing the operating costs associated with organizing freight carriages into trains and promoting them in railway directions, by improving the management of the train formation process in operational conditions.
