The most valuable obtained results: For the heterostructures with quantum wells based on the polar semiconductors it was experimentally shown that durations of formation and decay of the acoustoelectric domains which appear under the lateral electric field due to interaction of the hot charge carriers with the acoustic phonons are approximately equal. It is shown that use of the field pulses with duration less than the domain incubation time as well as use of the alternate polarity pulses enables to avoid domain formation. It is theoretically shown that interaction features of electrons drifting in quantum wells under action of the applied lateral electric field with the polarized vibrations of the crystal lattice result in effective (~40%) excitation of the coherent phonons of such type. In addition these lattice vibrations cause the electric current oscillations in the terahertz frequency range.
