The purpose of the research - determination of the main technological processes of creating a digital archive for the use of the National Archival Holdings documents and the principles of stocktaking, storage and access to digital copies. Methods of research - analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, analogy, comparison and generalization, abstraction, forecasting, questioning. The study enabled to analyse the current state of the creation and organization of the functioning of the digital archive for the use of the National Archival Holdings documents. The archival practice in stocktaking and ensuring the preservation of digital copies of documents, as well as providing access to them, has been studied. The basic problems, which cause difficulties in creating the digital archive for the National Archival Holdings documents use and ensuring its functioning in the national archives, as well as their solution have been proposed. The implementation of the research work has resulted into the development of the methodological recommendations "Digital Archive for the National Archival Holdings Documents Use: Creation, Storage, Stocktaking and Access" to provide the optimal and unified approach of archival institutions to the creation, recording, storage and access to digital copies of the NAH taking into account the progressive foreign and domestic practices in this field and the current situation in the scope of material and technical and personnel support of archival institutions in Ukraine. The implementation of the results of the research is to be done via maintaining of the main results of the research into the practical activities of the archival institutions that create a digital archive for the National Archival Holdings documents use.
