Established tranquilizing (anxiolytic) activity of the agent, as evidenced by a significant improvement in the behavior in conditions of situational anxiety states: increased locomotor and research activity, increased indicators of low zoosocial interaction (communicativeness, social recognition), . Regulatory effect of the drug on vascular tone and vasodilator effect on isolated vessels of old rats was established. In experiments on isolated heart of rats "GABA-Mg" increased the resistance of the myocardium to damaging factors (ischemia, postischemic reperfusion), which allows to predict the effectiveness of the drug in the complex therapy of ischemic heart disease. "GABA-Mg" increased the reduced serum content of magnesium in old animals and decreased the production of TBK-active peroxidation products in brain tissue, showing an antioxidant effect. The agent exhibited higher pharmacological activity compared to aminalone and a wider range of pharmacological action. The obtained results substantiate the possibility of using the drug in medical practice to increase the efficiency of complex treatment of elderly patients with somatic pathology and concomitant psychoneurological disorders.
