Haplogroups were determined by genotyping of 16 STR diallele loci of non-recombined part of Y-chromosome. 16 haplogroups were discovered in gene pool of Ukrainians. R1a is a dominating haplogroup in the Ukrainian population, the part of which is 40,2 % from the whole amount of discovered haplogroups. R1b and I2a1b3 Carpathian-Dinaric & Disles L621 shared the second place by frequency of occurrence in the studied sample - 9,20 %. Haplogroup E1b1b is represented with frequency 8,04%. Totally, these haplogroups take 65,0 % from the whole amount of discovered haplogroups. Received results show genetic heterogeneity of Ukrainian population, and analysis of literature sources gives a possibility to trace its relation to West and East Slavic population.
