The purpose of the work is to assess the impact of plastic contamination on bottom marine organisms on the example of the Gulf of Odessa. Methods of research - a combination of classical hydrobiological methods for collecting and processing microphyte and meiobenthos with experimental plants in the natural environment to study the processes of formation of biological overgrowing. Six expeditionary trips were carried out to collect material for research and tested methods for the collection and processing of microfiber and meiobenthose samples; 18 video transects for inventory of sea garbage in the Gulf of Odessa have been made. Based on the results of the performed researches, methods of studying the rate of settlement of microalgae of plastic materials and adapted methods for studying the formation of climbing on plastic materials by bottom hydrobionts have been developed. For the first time in the region, it has been shown that 59 species of hydrobionts are involved in the formation of overgrowing: 40 species of microalgae (29 diatomaceous, 8 cyanoprokariote, 2 dinophytic, 1 green) and 19 species of garpacticoids. A total of 900 m2 of seabed was analyzed, in which 29 units of sea garbage were recorded. The most common debris was polyethylene films. In the autumn period, three times more garbage was recorded than in the summer. In the summer, more obrozovanija was observed on bottles, and in the fall - on films. Quantitative indices of climbing on plastic vary within the range known for other substrates in the Gulf of Odessa. The number of microalgae averaged 96.4 ths. Cl-cm-2 on the film and 146.2 ths. Cl-cm-2 in bottles; the number of meiobenthos - 35,7 thousand copies · m-2 and 42,8 thousand copies · m-2, respectively. All this demonstrates the adaptation of hydrobionts to life on relatively new types of substrate in the Black Sea. Further research in this direction will show if there is a positive effect on the marine ecosystem in the case of the use of sea litter by sea residents as their residents. The introduction of the study of the impact of plastic as a new type of pollution should become one of the elements of environmental monitoring and contribute to the formation and understanding of the so-called "good ecological status" of the sea, which is an integral part of the Marine Strategy.
