The purpose of the work is to establish the regularities of the formation of coherent vortex systems on a streamlined surface with vortex generators, to develop the geometry of surfaces (objects) of the minimum hydrodynamic drag at a given number of Reynolds, the separated and unseparated flow. Research methods are physical and numerical experiments. The mathematical models of transient processes of vortex structure formation of turbulent wall flows on complex surfaces are developed. Experimental models and instruments for measuring the characteristics of turbulent wall flows and integral drag characteristics have been developed. Recommendations on the choice of parameters of streamlined surfaces for the purpose of local drag reduction are developed. A high-performance computing methodology is developed in the OpenFOAM, open source package. The 3D structure of the boundary layer on the streamlined surface with a deformable insert was investigated. It is shown that with certain parameters of a forced wave disturbance on the surface, a deterministic disturbance structure can be imposed on the boundary layer.
