The genesis of the cultivating rites on Ukrainian lands, agricultural motifs in the structure of the national calendar, the harvesting ceremony as a significant component of the traditionality of Ukrainians; an arenal-chronological characteristic of the habits of unleavened bread was carried out; the folk traditions of baking and consumption of leavened bread are analyzed; the characters` code of the traditional bakery and tools of the bakery process is determined. The results of the study of agriculture as a defining engagement of most Ukrainians can become the key to understanding the principles of formation of deep archetypal layers of the traditional Ukrainian worldview, the formation of peculiar ethnopsychological constants - "the soul of the narion".
