The aim of the work is to determine the level of frost resistance of Thuja occidentalis L. cultivars’ sprouts and the degree of heat resistance of Thuja occidentalis L. cultivars in conditions of Kyiv city, as well as a determine of drought resistance and water-retaining capacity of plants, a selection of the cultivars, the most resistant to low and high temperatures for use in urban plantings. Conducting of comprehensive assessment of decorative characteristics of Th. occidentalis L. and its cultivars. In research work, on the basis of the made researches, the cultivars of Thuja occidentalis L., which are sufficiently drought-resistant and resistant to high temperatures are determined, also the cultivars, susceptible to damage during winter period are determined. A comprehensive assessment of decorativeness of Thuja occidentalis L cultivars is conducted.
