Most infectious forest diseases, and especially invasive diseases, might change the forest ecosystem and lead to loss of biodiversity. Recent decades in Ukraine, such pathogens of conifer forest as Dothistroma septosporum, Dothistroma pini, Lecanosticta acicola, Cyclaneusma minus, and for deciduous stands - Hymenoscyphus fraxineus, Ophiostoma novo-ulmi have become important pathogens. Early detection and risk assessment of invasive species for the ecosystem is a key issue for the study of methods of protection against invasive fungal pathogens and directions of forest protection measures for new invasive species. For this reason, the search for bacterial and fungal isolates potentially effective for the introduction of biocontrol of new invasive diseases have been started in order to limit the massive spread of new diseases in the territory of Ukraine and Lithuania. To carry out the search and timely use of microorganisms for biocontrol, it is necessary to continuously carry out inspection and timely detection of new pathogenic microorganisms, which essentially includes continuous monitoring of the state of plantations, molecular monitoring of pathogens and the introduction of biological control methods for identified pathogens. Object of study: invasive diseases, bacterial and fungal strains for biological control of diseases. The purpose of the study: Experimental determination of the possibility of use fungal and bacterial species for biological control of existing (Dothistroma pini and D.septosporum, Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) and potential (Fusarium circinatum) invasive pathogens of forest plantations of Lithuania and Ukraine.
