Lashkaryov Institute of semiconductor physics popup.description2  As a result of experimental studies of nanocrystals (NC) of multicomponent chalcogenides such as CZTS (Cu2ZnSnS4), an abnormal dimensional character of phonon spectra was found, in particular, the high-frequency shift and narrowing of the band of optical phonons with decreasing NC sizes. This unusual effect was explained by the abnormal dispersion of the phonon branches of the CZTS compounds when leaving the center of the Brillouin zone. The method of structural diagnostics of multicomponent chalcogenides was developed on the basis of the analysis of phonon spectra obtained at the previous stages of the project was first applied to NC systems of "core-shell" type based on actual from the applications point of view of chalcogenide heterosystems such as CuInS2/ZnS. The resonance character of the excitation of Raman phonon spectra of such hetero-NCs was shown, despite the unstructured nature of their interband optical absorption spectra. It has been demonstrated that even for complex multi-component systems (ZnS)x -(CuInS2)1-x, the phonon Raman scattering spectra obtained with different resonance excitations, make it possible to distinguish the structure of a solid solution (Zn-Cu-In-S) from the core-shell structure of Zn-Cu-In-S/ZnS.
