The purpose of the research is to carry out theoretical substantiation, scientific and practical integration into the system of mechanisms of sustainable use of timber forest resources of a complex of regulatory and information support, which allows to implement their quantitative assessment and to balance the use of economic, environmental and social functions of forests under conditions of global climate change. Methods of research – for solving special biometric problems in the process of research, selected methods of biometrics (graphical and analytical, correlation and regression analysis etc.) were used. The classification of the concepts considered in the research is based on the theoretical generalization method. The method of expert assessments was used to clarify the characteristics of silvicultural and biometric information. Methodological approaches to estimation of energy potential of wood biomass are proposed, taking into account peculiarities of regional technical, ecological, economic and social constraints. Mechanism of accounting for the influence of climate change on bioproductivity and environmental functions of forests of Ukraine’s flatlands has been studied. Maturity ages and age final felling for the main forest-forming tree species of Ukraine are substantiated. A forest mask developed for the territory of Ukraine’s flatlands indicates that for a number of northern regions, the actual forest covered area exceeds the official data. The economic mechanism in forestry in the context of climate change should be shaped both taking into account the approaches of adaptive forest management and the main levers of green economy.
