Methods of research - energy system study methodology, mathematical modeling of the atomic technologies life cycle, mathematical modeling of linear programming problems. The analysis of the current state of regulatory control of radioactive waste management and decommissioning of nuclear power plants in Ukraine is carried out taking into account world experience, as well as the actual international obligations of Ukraine on these issues. An assessment was also made of the cost of creating radioactive waste storage facilities, the feasibility of their implementation in Ukraine, and the application of modern international recommendations on the radioactive waste classification and the nuclear power plants decommissioning. The calculation of the target surcharge to the tariff for electricity produced by national nuclear power plants was carried out to provide financing of measures for their decommissioning and management of radioactive waste. A comprehensive analysis was made of the possibility of introducing promising nuclear fuel cycles using the new and advanced nuclear power units, including small modular reactors with wider possibilities in maneuver regimes. Using the developed mathematical life cycle models of the main NPPs technological type, a comparative estimation of the their levelized cost of the electricity under operation in variable load modes, with relevant indicators of advanced TPPs technologies, has been carried out, which proved the feasibility of introducing small modular reactors with increasing environmental requirements, including carbon dioxide emissions payments. The priority directions of long-term development of the national nuclear power industry are defined: extension of the over-design lifetime of existing NPP units Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
