Plasmopara halstedii Berl.) resistance genes in sunflower and of brown leaf rust resistance genes in soft winter wheat varieties in the northeastern forest-steppe of Ukraine. Study purpose - to detect downy mildew resistance genes in sunflower material of different origin and brown leaf rust resistance genes in soft winter wheat varieties. Research methods - phytopathological, molecular genetic, breeding. Known from literature STS-markers (HaP2 and HaP3) to the Pl6 locus were validated on lines previously differentiated by resistance to downy mildew using field and laboratory methods. Four specific fragments (HaP2) were present in electropherograms of amplicons in resistant lines, and three - in susceptible ones; three PCR-fragments (HaP3) were found in resistant lines and one was shown to be present in susceptible forms. Genetic passports of sunflower accessions were formulated using STS-markers to the Pl6 locus - a gene for resistance to downy mildew. A collection consisting of 65 Ukrainian soft winter wheat accessions was evaluated for the marker IB-267 to the Lr26 gene, as well as for the RIS and SCM9 markers to the wheat-rye translocations 1BL.1RS and 1AL.1RS, respectively. It was shown that the marker for the Lr26 gene was present in 10 wheat accessions. The translocation 1BL.1RS was identified in four wheat accessions, and 1AL.1RS - in two. Novelty - 3 sunflower lines - carriers of genes for resistance to highly virulent downy mildew races 730 and 732 and 8 winter wheat varieties - carriers of the Lr10 Lr34 genes were detected. They are involves in the breeding program on sunflower and winter wheat. Experimental hybrids with genetic resistance were created.
