Yuriev popup.description2 Study purpose - identification of varieties-references of winter cereals by levels of frost resistance; formation of a winter barley collection by frost resistance, enrichment of trait collections of winter cereals by winter hardiness and the main valuable features; scientific support of growing winter crops in the region. Basing on the study results, we identified sources of high winter hardiness (7-9 points) among varieties and breeding material of winter cereals: winter soft wheat - total 141 accessions; winter triticale - total 21 accessions; winter rye 41 accessions. Collection formed in previous years were enriched: special trait collections of winter soft wheat by frost resistance (with 71 accessions), winter rye (with 10 accessions) and winter triticale (with 45 accessions). Twenty one winter soft wheat accessions with high yields of 4.81-6.18 t/ha (higher than or equal to that of standard variety Podolianka by 0.12-1.49t/ha) were selected. A trait collection of winter barley by frost resistance and winter hardiness consisting of 61 accessions from 4 countries was formed and submitted for registration with the NCPGRU in 2018. Seven valuable accessions of winter barley combining high yields with medium and above-medium frost resistance were selected and registered with the NCPGRU. Methodological recommendations on monitoring of winter cereals were developed and published. They are included in the program of scientific support for cereal cultivation of winter crops in agroenterprises, i.e. of annual scientific and methodological seminars on overwintering and crop status after overwintering. Two original winter soft wheat lines were created and submitted to the NCPGRU for examination: ХZ 51-18 (combination of high yield, frost resistance (7.5 points), regeneration intensity in spring), ХZ 59-18 (combination of high yield, resistance to frost and lodging (7.5 points), regeneration intensity) Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
