It is shown that: diastereomers of bis ((S)-1-(((S)-octan-2-yloxy)carbonyl) ethyl)-4,4'-terphenyldicarboxylate and bis ((S)-1-((R)-octan-2-yloxy)carbonyl) ethyl)-4,4'-terphenyl dicarboxylate can be obtained according to the scheme developed for fluorinated analogues, the previously developed method of esterification of p-terphenyldicarboxylic acid with secondary alcohols can be used to obtain a symmetrical p-terphenyldicarboxylic acid and chiral diester 2-fluoro-octan-1-ol, introduction into terminal positions of molecules of derivatives of p-terphenyldicarboxylic acid 2-fluorotorooctanol fragment leads to the appearance of an intrinsic mesomorphism. The change in the absolute configuration from (R) to (S) of the chiral center of the alcohol fragment of the terminal substituents of diasteromeric symmetric p-terphenyldicarboxylic esters, whose molecules contain conjugated (S)-lactate and octane-2-ol fragments , leads to increase their helical twisting power.
