The purpose of the work is to estimate the parameters of wave processes in the ionosphere using incoherent scatter radar and vertical sounding stations located in Ukraine and EISCAT for quiet as well as for naturally and artificially disturbed conditions in different seasons. Techniques for research are radio physical methods of remote sensing: incoherent scattering of radio waves and vertical radio sounding. The joint investigations of wave processes in the middle-latitude and high-latitude ionosphere were conducted using incoherent scatter radars and ionosondes of Ukraine and EISCAT during magnetic storms in 2016 and the effects of high-power radio transmission in November 2018. Temporal variations of the ionospheric F2 region peak frequency foF2 above Kharkiv and Tromsø during magnetic storms of 1 – 3 and 25 – 26 September 2016, as well as in the previous quiet periods were analyzed. The relation between traveling ionospheric disturbances observed over Kharkiv and quasi-harmonic variations of the magnetic field at high latitudes was detected. The results of research work can be used in fundamental studies of solar-terrestrial interactions and near-Earth environment, as well as for solving applied problems related to the influence of wave processes in ionospheric plasma on telecommunications and on the operation of satellite facility in open space.
