The analysis of physicochemical conditions of the process organization in aggregates of secondary metal and remelting processes (ESR and VAR) has been carried out. Features of modern methods of the metal refining from non-metallic impurities are considered and ways of reducing the oxygen content in metal with ESR are considered too. The thermodynamic analysis of phase stability in the Fe-Mn-Al-C / O system was done. Diagrams of the state of slag systems are analyzed and selected slags, which are thermodynamically stable at the temperatures of secondary metal processing and ESR, are determined. A matrix for physico-chemical modeling and thermodynamic (TD) calculations is made: • slags ANF-39 (31CaF2 / 32Al2O3 / 30 CaO / 3SiO2 / 4 MgO), ANF-6 (60CaF2 / 30Al2O3 / 8CaO / 2SiO2), VGS (5CaF2 / 48Al2O3 / 45CaO / 2 MgO) • three of aluminum magnesium steels with different Al contents up to 20% and Mn up to 11%, as well as with different carbon content (1.8%, 0.66% and 0, 17%) was selected; • Conditions for calculations ТD: remelting in an inert atmosphere at ESR at 1600 ° С and under conditions of a reduced pressure from 0,03 to 0,15 bar. The physico-chemical model of the ESR process in the protective atmosphere has been described, which allows us to choose the effective composition of the slag and to predict the correct time and amount of the deoxidizers addition. Also, the use of the model allows to design effective technology of standard metallurgical production and electroslag remelting of high-strength alumina-manganese steels for their further production. The thermodynamic calculations of the equilibrium state of the gas-slag-metal system for ESR of high-strength alumina-manganese steels and for the conditions of melting / remelting under reduced pressure are carried out.
