The optimal regime of heat treatment of Si3N4 + Zr reaction mixtures that makes it possible to obtain unmilled powders of the Si3N4 - ZrN composite material in a wide concentration range with a high reproducibility of the elemental composition in a single cycle of synthesis has been established. The technological parameters that provide the necessary contact of powders of the initial components and gas permeability for the synthesis of the Si3N4 - ZrN composite material were optimized. An investigation on the consolidation of the composite powders by the spark-plasma sintering method has been performed, due to which the choice of optimal compositions has been justified. A technology for the preparation of unmilled Si3N4 - ZrN composite powder has been developed, and a technological instruction "Powder of a Si3N4 - ZrN Composite Material" has been elaborated.
