It was shown that no separation of any alloy components (in particular, magnesium) occurs during severe plastic deformation, and, therefore, this cannot cause the destruction of the AMG-steel joint. The use of aluminized plates does not provide the necessary quality of explosion welding. The use of false plates to increase the duration of the action of compressive forces at the interface of the AMG-steel did not give a positive result. The best way to obtaining the required bimetal by explosion welding is the simultaneous cladding of AMG, steel, and aluminum interlayer. - A method of the EW parameters calculating was created for the AMG-aluminum-steel composite according to the scheme with simultaneous cladding. - Simultaneous cladding using an inert layer was tested. It allows to increase the range of EW parameters and reduce the specific consumption of explosives. - The obtained results can be used for industrial EW of composites AMG-aluminum-steel.
