The study of the influence of temperature, composition and osmolarity of the medium, as well as modifying agents and cryoprotectants on the sensitivity of erythrocytes of various animal species to cooling, mechanical stress and freezing. Methods – spectrophotometry, EPR method of spin probes, light microscopy, ionometry, osmometry, pH-metry, microhematocrit method, freezing in liquid nitrogen, statistical methods. Results. It was established that the efficiency of amphiphilic compounds depended on the species of erythrocytes, the physicochemical characteristics of amphiphilic molecules, and the type of stress factor. Amphiphilic compounds increase the microviscosity of the water-lipid surface of the membrane and its hydrophobic part. It was revealed that glycerol reduced the level of hemolysis of human erythrocytes in conditions of hypertonic shock and mechanical stress, and PEO-1500 did it under hypertonic shock only. It has been established that human erythrocytes after freezing in combined media containing penetrating and non-penetrating cryoprotectants accelerate plasma coagulation while maintaining the osmotic and morphological characteristics of the cells. Material and technical base – spectrophotometers, EPR spectrometer, light microscope, ionomer, osmometer, pH-meter, SH-02 formometer-aggregometer, thermostats, centrifuges, low-temperature bank, computers with statistical analysis software. Application. The findings can be used in medicine, veterinary science and for the preparing the lecture material for students and PhD students.
