A subtenon Lipoflavon injection decreased the total post-traumatic response of the eye as compared to a subconjuctival injection of Lipoflavon. Instillations and subtenon injections of a liposomal quercetin-based drug for experimental blunt trauma of the eye were proved to have pronounced membrane-stabilizing and antioxidant actions, to normalize glycolysis and a content of lipid peroxidation products in the tear fluid and blood serum. The most pronounced positive effect on the metabolic process was noted in the rats which received simultaneously instillations and subtenon injections of Lipoflavon. Therapeutic instillations of Lipoflavon in a combination with Lipoflavon subconjunctival or subtenon injections for experimental blunt trauma increase protein synthesis and energy production in eye tissues, which is evidenced by elevated levels of polysomes, free ribosomes, and mitochondria. Therapeutic instillations of Lipoflavon eyedrops in a combination with subconjunctival or parabulbar yellow sweet clover extract injections for experimental blunt trauma result in an increased level of organelles which are involved in protein synthesis (free ribosomes and polysomes), which decreases alterative processes and swelling in eye tissues.
